  • Create and implement innovative ways to expand visibility, research, accountability in the music therapy profession 5%
Additional Responsibilities
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
  • For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
Qualifications:
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree In Music Therapy (pending completion of internship) (Required) or
  • Master's Degree In Music Therapy (pending completion of internship) (Required)
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Demonstrate competence with a variety of musical instruments and skills, i.e., transposition, improvisation, song writing, instrumental/vocal arranging, Orff, Dalcroze, Eurhythmics, drumming, and adapting instruments and therapeutic music interventions to a variety of culturally, ethnically, racially diverse, medically, developmentally and physiologically impaired patients. (Required proficiency)
  • Knowledge of research design and methodology, patient assessment and evaluation techniques. (Required proficiency)
  • Strong interest in multi-disciplinary team approach. (Required proficiency)
  • Completion of a minimum of 100 hours of music therapy practicum. (Required proficiency)
  • PC (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint), office equipment, clinical equipment (Required proficiency)
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills (Required proficiency)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (Required proficiency)
