Our people division is growing, and we are looking for a Projects Engineer, Surface Automation at Nevada Gold Mines. The successful candidate is responsible for the coordination of internal and external resources. Responsible for the coordination of internal and external resources to ensure project deliverables are met and that the operational goals of the Autonomous Haulage and other surface automation implementations are fulfilled. Responsible for the execution of tasks with adherence to the constraints of a project budget, and while coordinating with Cortez Open Pit Operations, Technical Services, and Maintenance departments.

Responsibilities:
Maintain existing, re-forecast, and work within a People, Process, Technology Plan that will be used to describe, track, and communicate specific project tasks and milestones.
Provide project communication internally to various project stakeholders.
Identify, coordinate, and consult with project stakeholders to get buy-in for project improvement.
Liaise between autonomous operations and engineering to ensure the timely and accurate transmission of operating plans and performance reports.
Compile Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for autonomous equipment. Own this document and update as required.
Liaise with the Training Department to develop autonomous system training materials for new hires and control room operators who are new to the position.
Develop and implement employee engagement tools to gauge perception and effectiveness of autonomous project communications.
Promote open communication between all levels of the organization.
Participate in evaluation of all technology solutions regarding safety and health risk, production risk, and sustained feasibility.
Ensure a safe and environmentally responsible project implementation with all staff, consultants, and contractors.
Ensure adherence to the project budget, forecasts, and reporting cadences.
Other responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications:
Accredited post-secondary education (a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical/Electrical/ Chemical/Mining or related field) will be considered as experience, amount depending on nature and extent
required
Two (2) years practical experience in a leadership role, preferably in a position in the open pit mining environment
required
Eight (8) years practical experience in technical services department within the mining environment
preferred
Demonstrated safety leadership capability for both self and team
required
Excellent leadership, people, and communication skills to act as a "Change Agent"
required
Exhibit outstanding verbal and written communication skills, as well as organizational skills, and analytical skills
required
Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project
required
Proficient with emerging technology adoption preferred;
preferred
Project management experience
preferred

Nevada Gold Mines (NGM) is a joint venture between Barrick (61.5%) and Newmont (38.5%) that combined our significant assets across Nevada in 2019 to create the single largest gold-producing complex in the world.
