Responsibilities:
  • Assists senior engineers in highway/roadway improvement projects.
  • Performs highway improvement design including freeway, ramps, local streets, Maintenance of Traffic (MOT), signing and striping, retaining wall, and sound wall, .
  • Prepares various type of plan sheets, including Layout, Profile, Construction Detail, signing and striping, and others.
  • Assist with quantity takeoffs and engineers estimate.
  • Supports senior engineers and managers in preparing exhibits, reports, and technical memo.
  • Coordinates with various discipline design leaders including drainage, utility, traffic, electrical, and structural.
  • Performs work with moderate supervision.
Qualifications:
  • BS in Civil Engineering with + 3 years of relevant experience. Masters degree preferred.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certificate.
  • Proficient in Microstation. AutoCAD knowledge is beneficial.
  • Experience in Inroads and Civil 3D design software is a plus.
  • Experience with California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) highway improvement projects.
  • Familiar with Caltrans highway design standards and manuals.
Compensation: In accordance with local law, the following compensation range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition: $43-$57/HR. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.
