The primary purpose of this position is to support the organizational goals, management and employees of Virtual Business Office Associates (VBOA). The role is involved with all aspects of the employee life cycle including onboarding, performance management, employee relations, corrective actions, terminations, time management, offboarding, HR processes, procedures, and operations. All tasks related to this position are to be done in a manner consistent with Varner Resources/VBOA procedures, quality standards, client needs and applicable local, state and federal regulations.

Responsibilities:

Partners with employees and management to communicate human resources policies, procedures, laws and regulations. Coaches and counsels employees and supervisors on policy interpretation.

Assists with employee relations counseling, conflict resolution, disciplinary action and performance improvement counseling.

Responds to employee issues and complaints in a timely and professional manner. Coordinates, conducts and documents investigations of complaints and action taken.

Reviews requests for involuntary separations to ensure compliance with policy/law and conducts offboard notifications in a professional manner.

Conducts and analyzes exit interviews and makes actionable recommendations based upon data.

Represents the company in unemployment claim hearings. Ensures proper defense and documentation.

Responsible for managing aspects of FMLA, FLSA and ADA administration, tracking and reporting.

Maintains HRIS and compiles reports from the database(s) as requested.

Manages and enforces employee time and attendance procedures, including leave management.

Conducts portions of new hire orientation, typically to employees working in a remote environment.

Participates in developing goals, objectives and systems that will increase efficiencies and improve HR service delivery, employee morale, satisfaction and retention.

Uses sound logic and reasoning to identify issues, approaches, solutions and conclusions to problems.

Works independently, prioritizes effectively and makes sound decisions.

May take on other generalist assignments, projects and responsibilities as required.

Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in human resources, business, or related field.

5-7 years human resource experience, preferably with a large, remotely operating organization.

SHRM-CP or SRM-SCP or Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification preferred.

Extensive knowledge and ability to interpret/articulate Human Resources concepts and policies and applicable employment law to all levels of workforce.

Extensive working knowledge of FLSA, FMLA, ADA, and Title VII required.

Strong time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail required.

Must be tactful, diplomatic, and possess ability to communicate with individuals at all levels with professionalism and confidence.

Computer literate in a MS Office environment with emphasis in Excel.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
