**Description**

Since 1955, Linwood Center has been at the forefront of efforts to address the needs of the autism community. Today, Linwood is one of a handful of programs in the United States and one of only three in the state of Maryland that provides comprehensive education and residential programs throughout the lifespan under one service umbrella. We develop lifelong relationships with individuals living with autism and related developmental disabilities from elementary school through retirement and old age.

Linwood Center is currently seeking a Temporary Custodian. Performs custodial duties, including dusting, mopping, finishing and buffing floors, vacuuming and shampooing carpets, cleaning and restocking restrooms.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**

* General cleaning and disinfecting areas of the building (s) to meet local, state and federal regulations. Areas include offices, hallways, dining area and bathrooms etc. Cleaning includes daily trash removal, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, polishing, vacuuming, etc.

* Empties trash containers, disposes trash into dumpsters, and bags trash for proper disposal.

* Unlocks doors, ensuring doors are locked after cleaning areas.

* Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.

* Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

**Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)**

* High school diploma.

* At least one (2) years of custodian experience.

* Must have the physical capabilities to lift, move and unpack boxes and use machinery associated with the performance of duties described.

* A skill set that includes the ability to interface in a professional manner with Linwood staff, parents, school system personnel and other professionals.

* Must be able to pass Criminal Background check.

* Must be able to pass a drug test.

Rate of pay: $15 per hour
