As our Northeast Buyer your principal role will be to unlock sources of pre-owned supply for KEH. To this end, you’ll be responsible for building and supporting a network of business partners throughout the Northeast US and Eastern Canada. A critical part of this role will be developing direct relationships with NYC, NJ, and Toronto “new” camera stores along with camera wholesalers and resellers creating material proprietary supply streams. Part salesperson, part buyer, part technician, this dynamic role offers unique challenges and rewards for someone with a passion for people, camera gear, and sustainability. An existing network of relationships is a plus but the desire and ability to create and grow new relationships is a must. Responsibilities to include the following: ● Build and cultivate relationships with camera wholesalers, retailers, and related businesses. ● Identify bulk purchase opportunities of excess, refurbished, and pre-owned camera gear. ● Host “Sell your Gear” events at premier partner locations where customers bring in gear for evaluation and purchase by KEH. ● Inspect, grade, and present offers on equipment being presented by customers in a fast-paced environment using our custom quoting software. ● Train and support select partners authorized to purchase gear on behalf of KEH using our software and calibrating with our grading and inspection standards. ● Pursue opportunities within the photographic industry and in adjacent markets to expand our pre-owned purchasing capabilities. ● Seek out camera collections and visit customers in-person to evaluate and secure large deals. ● Represent KEH at photographic events including conferences and trade shows. ● Work closely with KEH technical team to align and calibrate grading and quality standards. Qualifications, Education, and Requirements: ● Strong understanding of photographic equipment including identification and basic operation of a diverse variety of cameras, lenses, and accessories. ● Desire and ability to create and grow new relationships ● Work well in a cross functional team-focused environment ● Customer centric attitude with a desire to provide great service ● Ability to handle pressure, stay calm, and respond to challenging inquiries ● Strong communication and interpersonal skills ● Quality focused with excellent attention to detail ● Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and some holidays ● Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office Physical Demands Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
