Description Patient Care Tech (PCT) in Cardiac Telemetry at Providence Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo, CA. This position is Full?time and will work 12?hour night shifts. Under general supervision by the RN, the dual role Patient Care Tech/Unit Secretary provides nursing staff with clerical support to assist in facilitating patient care and is responsible for providing basic nursing care for in?patients and out?patients as needed, within their specified area. The Patient Care Tech/Secretary is responsible for collecting and reporting information to the supervising RN and completing all patient?carerelated documentation. Responsibilities In addition to the roles described above, the PCT/Unit Secretary will perform all duties related to patient registration, documentation, charting, and basic nursing care during night shifts, ensuring timely communication with the RN and other clinical staff. Required Qualifications Coursework/Training for hires after 10/31/16: Completion of a CNA program, or completion of first?semester nursing program, or EMT program completion. Upon hire: National Provider BLS certification (American Heart Association). Experience with basic data entry. Preferred Qualifications Coursework/Training: satisfactory completion of a medical terminology course or knowledge of medical terminology. 1 year of acute patient?care experience, or 6 months experience in a direct patient?care environment providing clerical or patient support related to provider, patient documentation or charting. Benefits Base pay range: $24.00 $30.29 per hour. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on?call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
