Altus specializes in delivering comprehensive engineering, prototyping, testing, and production capabilities, including design, fabrication, assembly, and compliance support to our Government customers. The Tool Room Worker will be responsible for organization of inventory, ensuring efficient kitting operations, and managing the maintenance trades team.

We are looking for an individual that can use their Tool Room Worker experience to add value and make a significant impact as an Tool Room Worker to NAVAIR for this opportunity.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Assist in researching government supply sources and commercial vendors for tool and material availability.
  • Help coordinate the inventory, accounting, control, and disposal of tools and materials used in contract performance.
  • Support the review of project schedules to determine required tools and materials.
  • Aid in locating tools and materials for purchase as needed.
  • Assist in requisitioning tools and materials and help establish delivery sequences for projects.
  • Arrange for transportation of tools and materials within EPF and coordinate with outside sources.
  • Maintain basic equipment and tool inventory records.
  • Check delivered tools and materials to ensure they match the order before delivery to project teams.
  • Monitor and control the status of tools and materials requisitioned for contract performance.
  • Compile simple reports on the quantity and type of tools and materials on hand or on order.
  • Help maintain a library of technical manuals, product directories/catalogs, and historical records.
  • Perform other basic tasks as required to support customer requirements.
Qualifications:
  • Active U.S. DoD SECRET Security Clearance (Must have interim clearance before start date)
  • Must possess a valid Maryland Drivers License
  • High School Diploma
  • 1 years of related experience

Work Conditions:

Conditions will vary. Capable of working outdoors and occasionally from elevated work platforms with a fall protection harness and in temperatures ranging from 0-120. The position will include: 45% standing, 20% bending, 15% reaching, 5% sitting, 5% walking, and 10% lifting. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. Overtime is a requirement of this position.
