Description

Negotiates with vendors for the purchasing of all materials, supplies, equipment, and services utilized by the facility and its employees. Controls inventory and overstock for each department.

Essential functions include but are not limited to:

• Order supplies in an efficient and effective manner, finding products at the lowest cost
• Track and keep adequate inventory
• Manage purchase order tracking, obtain and maintain approvals
• Coordination of BioMed
• Finding the best product at the lowest cost
• Research products needed for the hospital
• Meet with vendors
• Negotiate contracts with buying groups and vendors
• Match invoices with purchase orders as needed.
• Check on back ordered items.
• Get information to return products.
• Deliver inter-office mail to employees, prepare outgoing mail and send out, prepare outgoing packages with UPS and FedEx and send out
• Assist with copy machines, and prepare copies of carbon copy forms when applicable
• Follow all hospital policies and procedures
• Keep and organized work area, and keep warehouse storage organized at all times
• Other duties as assigned

• Requires continuous performance of detailed tasks, interruptions and changing work priorities.
• Cognizant of fiscal responsibility with ordering, pricing, and credit card usage
• Completes annual education requirements
• Maintains patient confidentiality at all times
• Reports to work on time and as scheduled, completes work within designated time.
• Wears identification while on duty
• Completes in-services and returns in a timely fashion
• Attends annual review and department in-services, as scheduled
• Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner
• Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices
• This position is responsible for wholehearted, genuine operations of all aspects of the safety and health program - including compliance with rules and regulations- and for continuously practicing safety and health while performing their duties
• Perform tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or redesigned depending upon individual circumstances

• Bachelor's Degree in relevant field or five years' experience preferred
• Management or supervisory experience preferred
• Computer knowledge required
• 1+ years' experience in purchasing or related field

• Prolonged periods of sitting, lifting, reading, standing, walking, and writing
• Requires occasional lifting of 25 pounds or more and bending
• Requires normal vision range
• Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
• Requires repetitive motion
