This role is responsible for designing, analyzing, and optimizing complex systems and processes within the distribution center; as well as work to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance overall productivity.
Industrial Engineer will assist and lead the distribution center in the design and implementation of critical Continuous Improvement processes which deliver targeted business results. This position will develop, plan, and execute improvement, customer satisfaction, and productivity processes. Effective communication between all levels of the organization is essential in this role. The industrial Engineer will teach, coach, influence and act as an ambassador and leader in contributing to the development of the Pure Fishing culture and mindset.
This position will encompass projects that drive team accountability and commitment. They will utilize the Lean Six Sigma/ DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control) tools and methodology to implement projects that improve key elements of the Supply Chain Process.
What you will do:
Evaluate existing processes and systems to identify areas for improvement.
Develop and implement strategies to streamline operations and increase efficiency.
Utilize engineering principles and tools to optimize workflows.
Collect and analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and areas of improvement.
Use statistical methods to make informed decisions and recommendations.
Implement data-driven solutions to enhance performance.
Design efficient and ergonomic workspaces to enhance productivity and safety.
Optimize facility layouts to minimize bottlenecks and improve workflow.
Implement quality control measures to meet industry standards and ensure customer satisfaction.
Optimize supply chain processes to reduce lead times and improve inventory management.
Collaborate with suppliers and logistics teams to enhance overall supply chain efficiency.
Conduct cost analyses to identify areas for cost reduction and process optimization.
Develop and manage budgets for projects and ongoing operations.
Plan, coordinate, and oversee the implementation of improvement projects.
Prioritize Lean Six Sigma project activities and provide management tracking and reporting of project portfolio.
Compile, coordinate and lead weekly/monthly site Continuous Improvement project meetings.
Assist leadership team on project selection, execution and tracking of projects.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals and deadlines.
Provides specific tool training for project team members.
Conduct Lean Six Sigma brainstorm sessions on a quarterly basis during the year.
Assist in building and maintaining a library of process improvement tools, templates, and best practices.
Drive Value Stream Mapping to define As-Is Analysis and transition to Future State.
Foster a culture of innovation and efficiency within the organization.
Collaborate with vendors, suppliers and external resources for site solutions
Oversees site maintenance and facility projects
The ideal candidate will have:
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
4+ years of distribution/manufacturing experience supervising and leading direct reports.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in using Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), CAD, and other engineering software and tools.
Knowledge of analytical tools (Pareto Charts, Flow charts, Time Studies, Cause and Effect diagrams, etc.)
Certified in Lean Six Sigma practices, minimum Green Belt level or equivalent years of experience.
Experience implementing a lean culture.
Strong problem-solving skills. Must know how to define the problem, generate alternative solutions, and implement the solutions.
In-depth knowledge and understanding of warehouse management and control systems.
Knowledge of key warehouse functions (i.e. Inbound Receiving, Inventory Management, Order Processing, Replenishment, and Shipping).
Analytical skills: Assessing informational elements to make data driven decisions based on needs and budgetary limits.
Strong written and oral communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from all levels of management.
Strong financial acumen (Capital requests, ROI, and budgeting).
Must be able to lead, work and thrive in a cross functional team environment.
Must be able to perform work, manage competing priorities within specified deadlines.
Must be able to function in a quick moving, highly interactive team environment.
