Job Description Spry Squared is looking for a Senior Network Engineer for our client on NORTHCOM/NORAD Operations and Maintenance Contract (N2NOMS). This opportunity supports N2NOMS, an E&I and O&M program that serves the U.S. Northern Command and North America Aerospace Defense Command IT environment. The program provides services such as campus and data?center network infrastructure, software application support, enterprise infrastructure support, ITSM service desk, telecommunications, mobile services, managed print, Active Directory, and video conferencing. You will be the subject matter expert in data center and campus networking design and operation support. The position requires working independently in a fast?paced, dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will be personable, articulate, and focused on meeting customer needs quickly and effectively. A self?starter with limited supervision, excellent communication skills, and the ability to interface with customers to understand requirements, issues, and mission needs is essential. Responsibilities Conduct network and telecommunications system incident and problem investigation and diagnostics. Learn a new government system and become the single SME for all system issues. Provide network engineering, operations, and maintenance support for a mission?critical government system; act as SME on the team and impart expertise to other members. Plan and execute projects to perform uplifts and enhancements to the operational environment in accordance with strict change and release management processes. Lead problem?resolution cell for challenging network issues; build automation and tooling to support the operations team and improve service delivery. Configure network switches, implement connectivity and vendor technologies using copper & fiber; implement high?availability as needed. Implement defense?in?depth methodology by configuring appropriate firewall rules, security policies, and other IS?consistent configurations; implement high?availability configurations as needed. Ensure secure network infrastructure through connectivity to backend AAA authentication services, including secure configuration for remote & network resource access via 802.1X policies. Design and maintain out?of?band (OOB) management network using TrippLite serial consoles, iDRAC, and other technologies. Work with customer personnel, contractors, vendors to participate in the design and specification of private IP (PIP) and Internet circuits. Ensure high availability of Network Time Protocol (NTP) across all networks. Ensure configurations are consistent with industry best practices and FISMA to maintain accreditation. Work within configuration management processes to ensure consistent and secure modifications to equipment configurations. Develop and maintain technical documentation and diagrams related to field communications systems, equipment, and networks. Provide engineering support, statistics/data gathering, modeling, and flowchart creation to recommend the most efficient network configuration. Required Qualifications Active SECRET clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance. U.S. citizenship. Bachelors degree with 12+ years of experience or a Masters degree with 10+ years of experience. Certifications: Juniper JNCIP?SEC or JNCIE?SEC, Cisco CCNP?Enterprise or CCNP?Security. Experience designing and maintaining secure remote?access VPNs using Cisco Firepower ASA firewalls and AnyConnect VPN clients. Experience with Cisco networking equipment for an infrastructure refresh project. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and correct operational issues independently and collaboratively. Experience implementing information security (IS) best practices and complying with FISMA. Experience following configuration management processes. Excellent interpersonal skills; works well with team members and customers. Preferred Qualifications Experience operating and maintaining TrippLite serial consoles. Ethernet & TDMA?delivered private IP & Internet circuits. Cisco CCNA/CCNP certifications. Private APN cellular networks. Network Time Protocol (NTP). 802.1X Network Access Control policies. Cloud and hybrid?cloud networking. Security engineering. Prior participation in ATO processes. Business analysis/requirements development. Technical writing and documentation.
