**Senior Buyer**

Houston, Texas / Supply Chain Procurement / Full-time ***GoExpedi is hiring***

The Senior Buyer will support the companys Supply Chain department in the purchasing of goods from vendors. This role is critical to GoExpedi's success in maintaining successful vendor relationships, monitoring spending levels, inventory levels, and communication to the operations team. The main responsibility of the Senior Buyer is to ensure that the Supply Chain needs are met in a timely and cost-effective manner. This individual will review costs, develop relationships with vendors and suppliers and offer suggestions for where and how much material and supplies to buy. It is worth noting that GoExpedi runs in a no-to-low inventory model, so this position will be responsible for real-time procurement, making this a very fast-paced role. **RESPONSIBILITIES:**

+ Ensure Purchase Order dates are maintained in the ERP system. Communicate timely and current information regarding material availability to internal Operations and Sales teams.

+ Negotiate Purchase Agreements and Blank Purchase Orders to reduce lead times and achieve annual cost saving targets. Work with suppliers on product substitutions ideas that maintain form, fit, and function while reducing costs.

+ Be the primary point of contact with vendors. Maintain strong working relationships with vendors and utilize systems to monitor and report on vendor performance; coordinate and ensure corrective actions are taken, as necessary.

+ Conduct regular Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with Top 10 vendors, evaluating vendor performance and compliance. Based on QBR findings, involve other internal functional groups to resolve vendor issues.

+ Analyze supply chain for ongoing improving cost, quality, delivery, and recommend, implement, and report on improvement activity.

+ Seek out and follow through on implementing improved methods or procurement and control to further enhance the ability of teams to provide on-time products, reduce costs, and improve supply chain planning.

+ Maintain regular and open communications with internal customers while resolving day-to-day problems.

+ Supporting delivery and quality performance, cost and inventory management, and customer satisfaction for designated suppliers

+ Expedite the filling of orders to meet customer demands.

+ Responsible for ensuring purchase orders and supplier invoices correlate and are compliant with Company requirements.

+ Responsible for ensuring supplier invoices are approved in a timely manner and paid according to agreed vendor terms.

+ Communicate with Strategic Sourcing members on vendor issues.

+ Maintains adequate purchasing records.

+ Create and Conduct training presentations for Junior Buyers and Buyers as needed.

+ Monitors the PO receipt process and ensures PO's are appropriately paid and closed.

+ Conducts all business activities in accordance with all company policies, procedures and rules and ensures compliance with all requirements.

+ All other work as assigned by leadership.

**REQUIREMENTS:**

+ 5 10 years of experience working within a busy procurement environment, preferably within the oil and gas service industry

+ Minimum 2 years of experience using an ERP Procurement system

+ MUST have experience purchasing supplies/products

+ Managing and expediting orders placed with designated third-party suppliers

+ Experience of handling local and international logistics movements

+ Knowledge of inventory management processes and MRP systems as well as supplier management

+ Ability to analyze and present statistical data

+ Demonstrate good diplomacy, negotiation and communication skills

+ Ability to prioritize workload in a fast paced and dynamic environment.

+ Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office, including being able to manipulate data in Excel
