About Fairbanks, AK: Fairbanks is located in the interior of Alaska. At 65 degrees north latitude, the views of the sky are something that can only be experienced. The summers give us the midnight sun or 24 hours of sunlight. In the winter, the dark skies are lit up by the northern lights. We are surrounded by mountains, lakes, rivers, wildlife, and endless nature that brings solitude. Fairbanks is the second largest city in Alaska, so we have many "big city" amenities while still having the small-town feel. Many locals enjoy cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, snow machining, snowshoeing, dog mushing, fishing, hunting, hiking, climbing, skating, biking, canoeing, kayaking, and the list goes on and on. Jump in your car and you can drive south to the coast to find the ocean, adventure in many of our national parks, swim in the natural hot springs, or drive north to the tundra and Arctic circle. If you aren't the adventuring type, Fairbanks loves its hobbies, art, breweries, distilleries, music, sports, and University. Fairbanks is very community-oriented and a wonderful place to call home.
