Join to apply for the Inventory Specialist role at Walgreens Base pay range $17.00/hr - $20.00/hr Key Responsibilities Execute, monitor, and train inventory best practices and standard operating procedures for the entire store, including front?end and pharmacy. Support pharmacy inventory management activities such as receiving, counting, ordering, and facilitating returns. Champion On? Shelf Availability, handling receiving, counting, pricing, returns, and all in?store inventory processes.
Validate and ensure accuracy of planograms. Review and coordinate the proper use of reports and system applications that impact front?end and pharmacy on?hand balances and pricing. Maintain front?end and pharmacy asset protection techniques, and file claims for warehouse and vendor overages, shortages, order errors, or damaged goods (including prescription drugs). In designated stores, open and close the store in the absence of management, including system start?ups, cash handling, and ensuring the floor and stock room are ready for business.
Perform inventory counts, keep on?hand quantities accurate, and complete pharmacy inventory activities under pharmacist supervision, including recalls, vendor returns, and inter?store transfers. Execute pricing activities such as price changes, markdowns, and necessary regulatory pricing tasks. Support front?end and pharmacy ordering, monitor manual orders, and maintain consigned inventory. Assist in physical inventory preparation and support inventory day activities.
Maintain inventory compliance with state and local regulations for regulated products. Coach and develop store team on inventory systems and package delivery activities. When serving as the leader on duty, register sales on the POS, manage returns, voids, cash drops, and provide change. Comply with all company policies, maintain respectful workplace relationships, and perform additional assigned tasks.
Customer Experience Engage customers by greeting them, offering assistance, and resolving issues when serving as leader on duty. Model and share customer service best practicesincluding greeting, eye contact, courtesy, and proactive helpto deliver a distinctive and delightful experience. Operations Execute and coach team members on warehouse and vendor inventory management processes. Scan deliveries while the vendor is present in the store, focusing on One Box receiving.
Verify pharmacy shipments and posting of daily pharmacy warehouse orders under pharmacist supervision. Complete On? Shelf Availability end?to?end process, including disposals, call?ins, vendor returns, and scan?outs. Support pricing activities, ordering expense items, monitoring manual orders, and maintaining consigned inventory as needed.
Ensure compliance with state and local laws for regulated products. Assist with inventory records, organize files, and retain necessary documents. Support physical inventory preparation and auditing. Maintain store cleanliness and merchandising.
Assist and coach on package delivery activities and Pickup Program execution. Handle sales, returns, voids, refunds, and cash drops when acting as leader on duty. Maintain respectful relationships and comply with all company policies. Complete any other assigned tasks.
Training & Personal Development Attend company?based trainings and complete all e?learning modules, including safety training. Obtain and maintain a valid pharmacy license/certification as required. Communications Serve as a liaison between management and non?management team members, coaching and developing others with inventory systems. Communicate assigned tasks and report disciplinary issues or customer complaints to management when acting as leader on duty.
Basic Qualifications Six months of prior work experience at Walgreens (internal) or one year of prior retail experience (external). Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico). Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends. Achieving expectations rating on last performance review and no written disciplinary actions in the previous 12 months (internal only).
Attention to detail and ability to multitask and manage execution.
Experience
identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing solutions. Preferred Qualifications Prefer previous experience as a shift lead, pharmacy technician, designated hitter, or customer service associate.
