Job Summary:

Sanimax is seeking an experienced Transportation Manager to oversee and optimize our transportation operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in transportation management, with a focus on efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and leading and developing people. As a Transportation Manager at Sanimax, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing the movement of goods, ensuring compliance with regulations, and implementing strategies to enhance overall transportation performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning:
Develop and implement transportation strategies to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance overall performance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align transportation strategies with overall business goals.
Operations Management:
Oversee day-to-day transportation operations, including route planning, scheduling, and dispatching.
Monitor and analyze transportation metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
Fleet Management:
Manage and maintain the company's fleet of vehicles, ensuring they are well-maintained, compliant with regulations, and operating efficiently.
Implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and repair costs.
Regulatory Compliance:
Stay abreast of transportation regulations and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
Work closely with regulatory agencies to obtain necessary permits and licenses.
Cost Management:
Develop and manage transportation budgets, identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising service quality.
Negotiate contracts with transportation vendors and suppliers to secure favorable terms.
Lead, motivate and develop a team of 35+ transportation professionals, including 1 Supervisor, 35+ Drivers and 5 Fleet Mechanics.
Provide training and development opportunities to enhance the skills of the transportation team.
Customer Service:
Collaborate with customer service teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products.
Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
Implement and leverage transportation management systems (TMS) and other technology solutions to streamline operations and enhance visibility.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or related field OR equivalent work experience.
Proven experience as a Transportation Manager
Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, safety standards, and compliance requirements.
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Proficient in using transportation management systems (TMS) and other relevant technology.
Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Familiarity with environmental sustainability practices in transportation is a plus.
