Position Summary

Position Summary: The Student -Content Creator is responsible for supporting the marketing and communication efforts of Cochise College to include, but not limited to, video production, vlogging, social media content creation, writing news articles, updating web pages, and creating a range of marketing, promotions and communications to inform students and promote active engagement in activities.

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities: Within the scope of college policies and procedures, this position:

Assists the media & communications manager with creating social media and video content or work with other students to be involved in projects. Assists the marketing office to identify and develop compelling and informational story topics. Produce original and shareable marketing content that showcases Cochise College's student culture, events, programs and mission to be used on the college website, social media or other platforms as needed.

Assists the media & communications manager with storytelling when projects are assigned. Attend campus events and report on stories to inform, entertain and engage potential and current students.

Assists the marketing office staff with tasks assigned as needed.

Follow appropriate guidelines and processes for media and communications and collaborate with the marketing team to ensure content represents Cochise College's brand standards.

Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Education and Experience; Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Education and Experience Requirements:

Enrollment at Cochise College with a minimum of 6 credits per semester and 3 credits in the summer

Possess and maintain a 2.0 G.P.A or higher

Students attending Cochise College on an F-1 Visa require full-time enrollment with a minimum of 12 credits per semester and six credits in the summer

Preference may be given to individuals who are bilingual in English and Spanish

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of and ability to follow college policies and procedures

Knowledge of the latest marketing trends and techniques and social media

Knowledge of the proper operation of and the ability to use personal computers, Apple systems and applications and standard office equipment

Knowledge of current technologies and word processing, database, presentation, and spreadsheet software, specifically Microsoft Office applications

Knowledge of media and video production equipment (cameras, lighting and audio), software (specifically Canva, CapCut, Adobe Suite applications: Express, Photoshop, Premiere, Audition, etc), web, social media platforms and trends.

Ability to work accurately, efficiently, and effectively with all types of data

Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, and to relate to others in a professional, helpful manner

Ability to relate to a diverse population in a professional and helpful manner, and to maintain composure when faced with difficult situations

Ability to multi-task and organize, prioritize, and follow multiple projects and tasks through to completion with an attention to detail

Ability to serve as a Cochise College brand ambassador, make public appearances or host on behalf of the college in video content or projects.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Work Environment: Work is primarily performed under general supervision. Incumbent generally performs work in a typical office setting with appropriate climate controls.

Physical Requirements: Essential functions of this position require: lifting, manual dexterity, ability to communicate.

Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body; involves sitting majority of time; walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met

Mental Application: Utilizes memory for details, verbal instructions, emotional stability, critical thinking, adaptability and creative problem solving skills are important
