JOB SUMMARY

The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Intern must possess strong business acumen and a dynamic personality as this position interacts with management and business teams on multiple projects to drive performance and support company initiatives. The Intern will design, develop, modify, document and deliver high?quality analysis and reports that meet the businesss needs and improve overall results. The Intern will also perform a hybrid set of duties to support advanced analytics capabilities within FP&A.

A TYPICAL DAY COULD INCLUDE:

  • Using financial and operational data to identify and communicate key business drivers, operational metrics, emerging trends, and other key variables.
  • Reviewing and analyzing financial information and providing insights in order to improve business performance.
  • Designing reports or visualizations independently or by interpreting the requirements that management, business and sponsors provide and translating them into reports that improve operational efficiency and better decision making.
  • Performing a variety of reporting assignments requiring knowledge of an emerging set of capabilities and tools that allow users to extract predictive and prescriptive insights.
  • Designing, developing, testing, documenting and implementing reports using SQL and Microsoft tools with a data visualization layer.
  • Assisting in the preparation of the annual plan and quarterly rolling forecasts.
  • Partnering with business teams in evaluating opportunities, performing value added ad-hoc analyses and special projects as required.
  • Developing appropriate and meaningful methods of communicating complex financial data in an easy to understand format, including developing reports, dashboards, and presentations for communicating operational and financial results.

STRENGTHS OF A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE

  • Pursuing a Bachelors degree in Finance, Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related discipline.
  • You have a strong intellectual curiosity that drives you to develop deep business subject matter expertise.
  • Knowledge of reporting packages (Business Objects etc.), databases (SQL etc.), programming (XML, Python, or ETL frameworks).
  • Strong analytical skillswith the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • You are self-motivated, flexible and able to manage multiple assignments concurrently and independently, with a sense of urgency.
  • You are eager to learn, curious, creative, organized, and able to communicate well orally or in writing.
  • You value relationships and have a strong customer service focus.
  • You have strong problem solving, analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to suggest solutions.
  • You know the basics of Microsoft Office Suite with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Power BI preferred and capable of learning new programs and software.
  • You are forward thinking and strategic, always keeping long?term goals in mind when looking for ways to achieve current initiatives and able to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
