Conduct ISM and dynamic Navigational audits ensuring the compliance of the Company's Safety Management System. Responsible for implementation of company's safety management system on assigned vessels. Promote good communication between ashore departments and ship crew. Management and follow-up of ISM, ISPS, MLC, ISO and flag audits Handling HSEQ audits or inquires on board vessels Monitoring of corrective and preventive actions Conduct Incident and Accident investigation Regular vessels inspections and port visits in accordance to company’s policies. Conducting trainings when required for both shore staffs and ship crew. Point of contact for flag administrations and support Fleet department with the classification societies (RO). Participate in the Emergency Response Team when necessary. Qualification and skills

2 years Sailing Experience on board dry bulk vessels as a Chief Officer on Canadian Great Lakes. Command experience as a Master will be advantageous. Experience on Self Unloading vessels will be an asset. Experience conducting Internal ISM Audits, dynamic Navigational Audits on ships preferred. Experienced in handling Vetting inspections, Port State Inspections and other 3rd Party inspections. Experience in Accident and Incident investigation in marine field. Experience in dealing with class, flag and other regulating bodies. Experienced in carrying out Risk Assessment in Marine field. Certificate of Competency as a Master or a Chief Mate Near Coastal or equivalent ISM Internal Auditor Course preferred Proficient in Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, Outlook Practical knowledge of ERP softwares such as Oracle, Shipsure 2.0 etc. Trained in Accident Investigation and Risk Assessment techniques in Marine field. Strong understanding and knowledge of Transport Canada and IMO regulations Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and interact with people at all levels. Excellent communication (oral and written) skills. Coaching and mentoring skills Building a Performing Team Being Good at Both Tactics and Strategy . Ability to use company software systems; Ethical and accountable. The ability to work autonomously and/or in a group setting as required, to create synergy. The ability to perform Critical thinking, sound decision using best practices and common-sense approach to problem resolution. A team player with strong communication and inter-cultural skills.
