The successful job applicant willbe part of a dynamic geotechnical engineering team and will assist withthe management and execution of geotechnical investigations and designrelated to renewable energy projects, substations, transmission lines,and other power-related projects. Work elements may involve some or allthe following: estimating, management, training/mentoring staff,coordinating field and laboratory testing, geotechnical analysis anddesign, report preparation, and construction monitoring/observation.Westwood has a highly experienced and dynamic team of individualsdedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients.Duties and Responsibilities Prepare proposals and cost estimates forgeotechnical investigations and related design work. Participate ingeotechnical site investigations, assign geotechnical laboratory tests,analyze field and lab data, and prepare investigation reports. Interpretand analyze geotechnical data to establish type, classification andengineering characteristics of materials. Complete geotechnicalengineering analyses including, but not limited to, seepage, slopestability, bearing capacity, settlement, rotational stiffness, andliquefaction. Manage, supervise, mentor, and train other geotechnicalstaff. Required Experience Bachelor\'s degree in civil/geotechnicalengineering from an ABET accredited college. Master\'s degree a plus. PErequired. Minimum 5 years of related work experience. Knowledge ofgeotechnical engineering fundamentals, geotechnical testing, and generalcivil/geotechnical engineering design and construction practices.Geotechnical experience on power-related projects a plus. Experienceperforming and managing geotechnical investigations and reports. Strongtechnical writing skills. Experience supervising and traininggeotechnical staff. Strong computer skills, with proficiency in MSOffice and familiarity with gINT, GeoStudio, LPile, MFAD, and othergeotechnical software a plus. Strong technical, communication, andinterpersonal skills. Works best in a fast-paced environment.Flexibility to travel/work in the field for extended periods and havethe ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and variousterrains associated with construction projects.
