Loan Underwriter Location: Chesterbrook, PA We are seeking a meticulous and customer-focused Loan Underwriter to join our Lending team at JG Wentworth. The ideal candidate will be responsible for reviewing loan applications, verifying essential information, and ensuring a high-quality experience for our applicants. This position will be reporting to the VP of Underwriting. Responsibilities: Review and verify loan applications, including employment, income, identity, payment history, bank account history, and repayment ability. Maintain high standards of quality while processing a large volume of loan applications. Conduct outbound communication (calls, emails, SMS) , as necessary, to request additional documentation from loan applicants. Processing inbound calls, SMS and emails from applicants Detecting suspicious or potential fraud risk on loan applications Propose new ideas and recommendations to improve departmental processes. Qualifications: 2-5 years of experience in customer service, loan underwriting, consumer lending, personal banking, mortgage underwriting, or a similar field Familiarity with processing loans, financial statements, and income documents Must be able to easily articulate financial questions and document requests via phone and email Ability to follow detailed procedures to verify applicant information and process applications Ability to take detailed noted and document work with attention to detail Strong communication, typing and writing skills Goal oriented and experienced with high-performance teams Comfortable with a significant amount of your time spent engaging with customers via phone and email Extremely comfortable with computers and general aptitude for quickly learning new systems Ability to make lasting impressions, quickly build meaningful connections with people and a passion for delivering high-quality customer experience You thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently Detail oriented and a passion for accuracy Appreciate a team mentality and have a desire to contribute to our mission as a company Ability and willingness to work Saturday or Sunday if needed in the future The skills mentioned above only describe the essential job functions and are not intended to be a complete list of all duties and responsibilities.
