About the Role
As a CBRE Property Management Accounting Sr Director, you will be responsible for formulating and executing on strategy plans related to financial reporting. This includes oversight for internal financial planning, performance measurement and leading financial reporting teams in service of our clients and collaborating with clients and organizational leaders to ensure operations support optimal client service and satisfaction. This role will be a member of the senior leadership team and will also have responsibility for the design and execution of special projects as assigned.

What Youll Do:
Direct duties related to forecasting and operating plans. This includes project level expenditure tracking and reporting.
Serves as a liaison between accounting personnel, management and external customers. Strategically builds relationships with key stakeholders and leadership members both internally and externally, to ensure service levels and financial objectives are being met.
Serves as a member of the sales team representing Property Management Accounting in the pursuit of new business. Develops responses to RFPs and attends and participates in sales pitches to present accounting solutions.
Prepares and delivers financial presentations to client's senior management.
Develops and implements departmental internal controls, financial policies and procedures. Continuously evaluates departmental processes to ensure maximum efficiencies, conformity to internal policies and procedures as well as supporting internal controls.
Participates and/or leads all aspects of internal and external property and client transitions. Works with other internal teams in handling special requirements as defined in the Management Agreement and scope of services in the Financial Services Agreement.
Researches and remains current with changing business climate and applicable state and federal regulations related to accounting practices.
Oversee standard management reporting and consolidated financial reporting.
Approve financial documents including balance sheets, cash flows,and other reports.
Direct development and preparation of accounting policies and procedures.
Review and verify ad hoc financial reports, documents, and evaluations for senior management.
Accountability for quarterly financial reporting with the SEC.
Confirm that the company follows the policies, correct accounting practices, and legal regulations.
Oversee special projects and companywide initiatives. Lead responsibilities for special projects.
Direct other financial and business studies and other duties as assigned by CBRE Senior Leadership.
Guide by business segment and/or organization functional strategy.
Set clear expectations and manage goals of both team and client deliverables.
Identify and solves complicated problems leveraging departmental resources using advanced critical thinking.
Explain complicated ideas and talk through difficult topics.
Provide and manage formal supervision to employees. Confirm the training and development of staff. Direct performance evaluations and coaching. Oversee the recruiting and hiring of new employees.
Manage and regulate the team's daily activities. Establish and confirm work schedules, assign tasks, and cross-train staff. Set and track staff and department deadlines. Mentor and coach as needed.
Apply deep knowledge of multiple disciplines, broad industry knowledge, and commercial awareness. Drive financial and functional performance within disciplines and across business.
Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Negotiate with senior management, customers, and external parties of divergent interests to reach an agreement of strategic importance while being guided by the business segment and the organization's functional strategy.
Conceptualize new methods, techniques, processes, and standards across job disciplines or functions.
Direct the resolution of highly complex or unusual business problems by applying advanced critical thinking

What Youll Need:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with 12-15 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in the areas of staffing selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention is preferred.
  • Ability to exchange sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations and resolve problems.
  • Leadership skills to motivate the team to achieve broad operational targets with impacts on own job discipline, multiple job disciplines, and department.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc
  • Expert organizational skills with an unrivaled inquisitive mindset.
  • Expert math skills. Ability to calculate complex figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.
