Responsibilities

Assists senior engineers in highway/roadway improvement projects.
Performs highway improvement design including freeway, ramps, local streets, Maintenance of Traffic (MOT), signing and striping, retaining wall, and sound wall, .
Prepares various type of plan sheets, including Layout, Profile, Construction Detail, signing and striping, and others.
Assist with quantity takeoffs and engineers estimate.
Supports senior engineers and managers in preparing exhibits, reports, and technical memo.
Coordinates with various discipline design leaders including drainage, utility, traffic, electrical, and structural.
Performs work with moderate supervision.

Qualifications

BS in Civil Engineering with + 3 years of relevant experience. Masters degree preferred.
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certificate.
Proficient in Microstation. AutoCAD knowledge is beneficial.
Experience in Inroads and Civil 3D design software is a plus.
Experience with California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) highway improvement projects.
Familiar with Caltrans highway design standards and manuals.
