Description-

Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients admitted to the step-down unit, including monitoring vital signs, assessing neurological status, and evaluating cardiac rhythms.

Monitor and manage patients transitioning from intensive care units to the step-down unit, providing advanced nursing care to stabilize and optimize their condition.

Administer medications, intravenous therapies, and other treatments as prescribed, monitoring for therapeutic effects and potential adverse reactions.

Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient assessments and diagnoses.

Monitor telemetry and cardiac monitoring, recognizing and responding promptly to changes in rhythm or other cardiac indicators.

Assist with procedures such as central line placements, arterial line monitoring, and ventilator management as needed.

Provide education to patients and their families regarding their condition, treatment plan, and self-care measures.

Monitor for signs of clinical deterioration or complications, intervening promptly to prevent escalation of illness.

Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and team meetings to coordinate patient care and ensure continuity of care.

Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and comprehensively in electronic health records.

Collaborate with ancillary departments such as respiratory therapy, physical therapy, and case management to optimize patient outcomes and discharge planning.

Advocate for patient safety, comfort, and satisfaction, ensuring adherence to evidence-based practice guidelines and quality standards.

Provide emotional support to patients and families during times of stress or uncertainty, fostering a therapeutic and compassionate environment.

Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development activities to enhance nursing practice and patient care delivery.

Note-

Required Qualifications:
1-year recent (within the last 3 years) full-time equivalent experience
Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

License, Certification, Registration
Registered Nurse License (in the state where care is provided)
Basic Life Support
Advanced Cardiac Life Support
Experience in Cardiac Rhythm Recognition
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in nursing or related field.
