Hudson Martin PC is a law firm located in Palm Desert and Carmel, California. We are looking for a full-time, in-office Finance Manager in our Palm Desert office. The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Have a strong understanding of financial statements
  • Be able to communicate well with the law firm's external CPA, clients, attorneys, and other third parties
  • Work with the Managing Partner to oversee the financial accounting department for the law firm
  • Preparation of detailed monthly reports for management
  • Oversee all financial aspects of law firm management
  • Assist in review, implementation, and execution of financial projects to improve quality and efficiency throughout the law firm
  • Be control-oriented and have an ability to effectively interface with both internal and external staff, clients and third parties as required
  • Handle payroll preparation and execution for all levels of firm employees
  • Be responsible for all law firm Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
  • Assist with annual and monthly budgeting
  • Perform cost analysis and vender review and comparisons
  • Developing and executing internal financial related policies, such as expense reimbursement processes, mileage, etc.
  • Manage all aspects of the law firms bookkeeping software and data entry
  • Be part of the firm's management team. This is not a 9-5 position. Just like the other management positions at the firm, this position requires long hours and weekend hours are often necessary.
  • Handle all law firm client invoicing
  • Be professional and mature in all aspects of communication and job performance

Qualifications:

  • BA or higher in Accounting or Finance
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Self-motivated, ownership mentality
  • Solid analytic and problem-solving skills
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills, including ability to comfortably present to senior management
  • Ability to develop and maintain solid working relationships with a variety of persons across the organization and outside the organization
  • Initiative with a solid drive to learn, and to multi-task while meeting tight deadlines
  • Ability to work in a team and independently
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Hard worker
  • Excellent skills in QuickBooks

Experience:

  • Relevant experience of a minimum of 3 years is Required
