One of our top commodities clients is looking for a REMOTE Crude Oil Market Analyst to sit within and support their trading and origination teams. Ideally want someone with 5 years or more of experience in producing oil product balances analysis with good knowledge of the market dynamics of gasoline, jet, and diesel with an emphasis on the Americas region. This role has tremendous upside potential and right now will consist of market analysis work but has future growth and exposure to the trade desk. You will work in a fast-paced trading environment with rapid reports to the research group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of data resources from consultants/ government agencies, data vendors, and internally of the oil product balances for CRUDE oil
  • Have knowledge and experience of U.S. coverage in the power and gas sectors as well as crude, refined and oil products
  • Forecast components of oil balance, including product demand, product supply, and imports
  • Be able to communicate with traders and clients with high level terminology
  • Collaborate with trading teams to develop and implement trading strategies, including hedging and risk management strategies
  • Provide timely and accurate market insights and reports to support decision-making processes

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, mathematics, engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in oil trading, analysis, or related field
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with proficiency in statistical analysis and data modeling
  • Solid understanding of energy markets, including oil production, transportation, refining, and trading dynamics
