Position Overview:

The Informatics Liaison Nurse utilizes their nursing skills to work with end-users and technical groups to provide operational and technical education, support, troubleshooting and/or recommendations of process or system improvements by utilizing nursing practice experience. The main goal of this role is to ensure all staff are utilizing their technology tools fully with efficiency and accuracy to ensure we are achieving optimal patient outcomes. The Informatics Liaison Nurse is responsible for advanced knowledge of the Epic application and workflow knowledge as it relates to the end users they will support. The Informatics Liaison Nurse will work independently on projects and/or assist in projects along with end user assessments in order to gain in-depth knowledge of practice and system workflows to achieve optimal system functionality and ultimately quality patient care. They are responsible for assisting in development of and maintaining training materials as necessary in conjunction with the IS Computer Education team. The Informatics Liaison Nurse will lead training of new staff members and provide regular ongoing training opportunities. They also provide support to staff to troubleshoot issues and answer questions as they arise. The Informatics Liaison Nurse will serve as a mentor to new Informatics Liaisons. Supports and implements patient safety and other safety practices as appropriate. Supports and demonstrates Family Centered Care principles.

Position Details:

Part-time working 32 hours per two weeks.

Two days a week between 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday – Friday.

This opportunity will be onsite at our Sauk Centre location and includes an on-call rotation.

Minimal travel may be required for go-lives, training, or meetings.

Qualifications:

Associate degree required. Bachelor's degree preferred.

2+ years nursing experience & informatics experience or system analyst required.

Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Minnesota required.

Maintain professional license/credentials if pertinent to assigned application(s). Epic credentialing/proficiency within 6 months.

Previous experience in information technology and/or software.

Epic proficiency and/or experience in application(s) preferred.

Informatics Certification preferred.
