Job Description:Job Title: Toolroom EmployeeDepartment: Tool RoomThe Cooper Standard Gaylord, MI manufacturing plant is looking to hire a Toolmaker to work in the Tool Room. This will be a 3rd shift position with work hours 10:50pm-7:20am.The pay rate is $30.00 per hour. SUMMARY: Set-up and perform machine and bench operations necessary to make, alter, or repair tools, jigs, fixtures, dies, molds, or gauges of complex design. DIMENSIONS: Performs a variety of operations at a high skill and a wide variety of operations at moderate skill. Works from blueprints, diagrams, or samples to very close tolerances.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Analyze specificationsLayout metal stockSet-up and operate machine toolsFit and assemble parts to make and repair diesWork with high precision and close tolerancesFit and assemble parts to make or repair machine tools and maintain industrial machinerySet-up secondary tooling operations.QUALIFICATIONS: Applied knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics metal properties, layout and machining procedures. Blueprint reading and specification of sketches.EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High school graduate with (2 years vocational school training in machine tool technology a plus). 5-7 years tool room experience preferably in a manufacturing facility. Journeymen Tool & Die preferred.
