Dermatology Physicians is a privately-owned dermatology practice with 10 locations. We are currently looking to expand our staff with a full-time certified medical assistant/scribe. As a fast growing practice we also offer growth opportunities within the practice. Your day as a Dermatology Medical Assistant

As a Full Time Dermatology Medical Assistant at Dermatology Physicians of Connecticut in Branford, CT, you will play a vital role in providing top-notch patient care. From rooming patients and updating their information in the EMR system to assisting with biopsies and surgical procedures, you will be involved in various aspects of patient treatment. Your responsibilities will also include transcribing for providers during exams, administering local anesthesia, and educating patients on their treatment plans.

Additionally, you will be tasked with managing prescriptions, pathology, and labs, as well as assisting with cosmetic procedures. By stocking rooms with supplies, sanitizing work areas, and diligently following through with tasks, you will contribute to our high-performance and patient-focused culture.

To excel in the role of Full Time Dermatology Medical Assistant at Dermatology Physicians of Connecticut in Branford, CT, candidates should possess a blend of essential skills and qualifications. While prior experience working in a medical office is preferred, we also welcome strong self-starters with a willingness to learn. Experience with electronic medical records, particularly proficiency with EMA, is advantageous.

The ideal candidate will be adept at working both independently and collaboratively within a professional team setting. Strong time management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment are crucial. Demonstrating empathy towards patient needs, adhering to strict sterile techniques, and maintaining consistent punctuality and reliability are paramount.

As travel between offices is required, flexibility and adaptability are key attributes for success in this position.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

  • Prior experience working in a medical office with EHR system, experience with EMA is a bonus
  • Dermatology experience is preferred but not required.
  • Must be able to work as a professional team member while completing tasks independently
  • Must be able to demonstrate an understanding of strict sterile techniques or learn quickly
  • Committed to consistent punctuality and reliability.
  • Empathetic with patient needs and concerns
  • Prefers a fast paces work environment
  • Well-organized with attention to detail
  • Travel between offices is required
