Lead Manufacturing Projects Engineer

Job Description SummaryThe Lead Manufacturing projects engineer will lead cross-functional teams consisting of design, manufacturing, quality, sourcing, and program management to assess NPI hardware and manufacturing technology for features of risk per DoD MRL Deskbook standards. They will then lead, manage, and track this team in creating and progressing through a maturation plan to develop the required manufacturing technology and mitigate identified risks. The role has moderate autonomy, requiring high levels of operational judgment.Job DescriptionRoles and ResponsibilitiesResponsible for developing and managing engineering / technology projects. Accountable to deliver the scope of work to the original cost estimate.Manages schedule, budget, and integration of NPI and/or requisition projects, including influencing the projects to meet customer CTQs and hit tollgate milestones. Project is often a component of a program.Lead cross-functional teams in the creation and management of risk-based manufacturing maturation plans (MMP's)Collaborate with cross-functional teams in the development of manufacturing processes for classified hardware.Collaborate with customers to ensure alignment with GE MRL standards and sufficiency of substantive evidence of risk mitigation providedDrive process improvement and standardization of work across programs by way of FLIGHT DECKRequired QualificationsBachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma /GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Mechanical, Aerospace, Materials Science, Chemical, etc) + 3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering and/or project managementMust be a US citizenAbility to obtain and maintain a DoD Security ClearanceDesired Characteristics5+ years of experience in NPI manufacturing and/or project managementPrevious or currently has DoD Security ClearancePrior NPI manufacturing experienceStrong oral and written communication skills.Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projectsEstablished project management skillsExperience and working knowledge of MRL DeskbookHumble: respectful, receptive, agile, eager to learnTransparent: shares critical information, speaks with candor, contributes constructivelyFocused: quick learner, strategically prioritizes work, committedLeadership ability: strong communicator, decision-maker, collaborativeProblem solver: analytical-minded, challenges existing processes, critical thinkerHealthcare benefits include medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug coverage; access to a Health Coach, a 24/7 nurse-based resource; and access to the Employee Assistance Program, providing 24/7 confidential assessment, counseling and referral services.
