Description

Responsible for receiving merchandise, totaling bills, accepting payments and making change for customers in retail store.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

Greets customers as they enter the store using the Company's guest service standards.
Demonstrates and explains the proper way to use the merchandise, answering any questions and addressing any concerns the customer might have.
Listens to customers to gain a thorough understanding of what they need and make tailored recommendations.
Examines the sales floor to ensure merchandise is well-stocked, well-maintained and properly rotated.
Provides exemplary customer service throughout the shift, helping customers as needed and demonstrating amplified service.
Processes business transactions, handles cash, processes debit/credit cards and performs returns or exchanges when permitted.
Listens to, evaluates, and handles guest complaints in a courteous, professional manner. Notifies supervisor of guest concerns immediately.
Takes inventory, stock, and restocks merchandise.
Works with other team members and leaders to ensure a high-quality customer experience.
Assists with preparations for displays.
Answers incoming phone calls, routing as necessary.
Monitors for cleanliness and safety; cleaning as necessary.
Notifies facilities or housekeeping for repairs and/or detailed cleaning.
Attends, participates in and supports training and department meetings.
Maintains knowledge of property information, including memorabilia.
Follows and abides to cash handing procedures. Also must be an independent cashier.
Returns any lost and found articles to supervisor immediately.
Follows assigned cash and paperwork drop procedures.
Adheres to department and property policies and procedures.
Promotes safety awareness to minimize work related injuries.
Follows Mississippi Lottery guidelines for lottery tickets and scratch off tickets. Also follows departmental guidelines for the Mississippi Lottery.
Performs other functions as necessary or as assigned by management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
High School diploma general education (GED).
Experience in retail or hospitality operations preferred.
Previous cash handling experience required.
Must be very detailed oriented.
Must have basic computer experience, including cash register experience.
Data entry skills preferred.
Must have basic mathematical skills. Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
Must project a professional and positive image.
Must have a high level of energy
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to deal with people in a manner that shows sensitivity, tact, and professionalism.
Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with all Hard Rockers and guests.
Must be able to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds.
Training
All employees are required to complete mandatory compliance training within thirty (30) days of hire date, then annually thereafter. Training marked with an asterisk below must be completed prior to reporting to their respective work area. The below courses are required for this position:
