Illumination Foundation (IF) is a growing non-profit organization dedicated towards disrupting the cycle of homelessness by providing targeted, interdisciplinary services in our recuperative care centers, emergency shelters, housing services and children's and family programs. IF currently has 13+ facilities with 22+ micro-communities scattered across Orange County, Los Angeles County and the Inland Empire. Job Description The Substance Use Technician is responsible for providing adult patient supervision in a shelter or recuperative care facility and assisting in the maintenance of a safe, secure environment that enhances behavioral health and substance use treatment while utilizing the harm reduction and recovery models. The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00 per hour, depending on experience. This position also qualifies for$1.00 swing shift differential and $2.00 graveyard shift differential. Schedule is 3:00pm - 11:30pm, Sunday - Thursday. Responsibilities + Within a Harm Reduction Model complete substance use assessment. treatment planning, goal setting, and discharge planning to clients interested in services + Provide individual and group counseling to clients struggling with substance abuse + Recognize the need for and provide crisis intervention to clients + Complete ACE' s Assessment and other related assessments as indicated + Initiate CIWA's as needed + Within 5 days of service provision, documents all client interactions or activities completed on behalf of the client {including collaboration with other disciplines, case consultations, telephone calls, leaving voicemails, and collateral contact) in KIPU + Meet documentation standards as assigned by Clinical Supervisor, Manager or Director + Inform Associate Manager, Manager or Director, within 12 hours of making an incident report, APS/CPS report and complete required APS/CPS reports within the mandated time frame + Collaborate [on a need-to-know basis) with teams including site, nursing, case management, behavioral health therapists, food service, and transportation regarding clients' substance use counseling needs, ensuring the highest, level of client care + Must maintain confidentiality of work-related information and materials according to HIPAA standards + Attend meetings as directed + Provide leadership, direction and oversight as directed + Drive to any IF location for coverage, trainings, or support, as directed + Research and build relationships with community agencies for client resources and linkage + Familiarization with supportive services in county/counties served, including but not limited to linking clients to outside therapy, psychiatry, substance use treatment, job training, schooling, church, AA/NA Meetings, etc. + Support volunteers as needed; may be required to supervise volunteer{s) + Other responsibilities, as assigned by Supervisor, Associate Manager, Manager or Director Preferred Experience/Minimum Qualifications Required: + High School graduate or GED equivalent + Must have completed one of the following certifications: RAD-T, CADC-1, CADC-11, LAADC, LAADC-S Preferred: + Experience and knowledge with electronic filing system (KIPU & AICA) + Bilingual: English and Spanish. + Proficiency in Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, Excel,Teams, etc.) Benefits + Medical Insurance funded up to 91% by Illumination Foundation (Kaiser and Blue Shield), depending on the plan + Dental and Vision Insurance + Life, AD&D and LTD Insurance funded 100% by Illumination Foundation + Employee Assistance Program + Professional Development Reimbursement + 401K with Company Matching + 10days vacation PTO/year + 6 days sick PTO/year + 10 days holiday PTO/year + Potential eligibility for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program (PSFL) for federally qualified loans Powered by JazzHR
