**EHR SUPPORT SPECIALIST**

**JOB TITLE:** EHR Support Specialist

**REPORTS TO:** Chief Information Officer

**GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:**

Under the direction of the Chief Information Officer, the EHR Support Specialist performs tasks associated with successful configuration, maintenance, support, reporting and training of Western Sierra Medical Clinics Electronic Healthcare Systems. This position is responsible for direct support to clinical operations and patient care teams to facilitate the introduction, acceptance, integration, and optimal use of the Electronic Healthcare Systems (primarily eClinicalWorks (eCW)) application in the clinic. EHR Support Specialist is also responsible for solving issues employees may experience with eCW software or employees questions regarding use of the software.

**GENERAL DUTIES:** (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)

- Provide daily support to eCW application users through troubleshooting, coaching, and consulting.

- Identify and troubleshoot application issues as they occur, owning the problem and seeing it through to full resolution issues that require additional assistance will be referred to the IT Help Desk.

- Work with advisory workgroups to optimize use of the system through implementation of new eCW features and upgrades.

- Attend appropriate clinic meetings as eCW expert.

- Coordinate training to new clinic staff and providers and support upgrade training.

- Provide competency/efficiency training for existing users.

- Attend and participate in sessions for interest-raising, problem-solving, or training topics.

- Assist in providing expertise or resources (i.e. handouts) to support sessions.

- Ensure any changes to EMR are communicated to end users in a timely and understandable manner.

- Assist with administrative functions.

- Coordinate special projects as assigned.

- Other duties and responsibilities as designated by supervisor.

- Confidentiality must be maintained according to Western Sierra Medical Clinic standards and policies.

- Documents all pertinent information in patients electronic medical record according to Western Sierra Medical Clinic's Policies and Procedures.

- Upholds Western Sierra Medical Clinic's Policies and Procedures, infection control standards, applicable state, federal and local laws.

- Quality Improvement Duties:

- Participates in quality improvement activities;

- Participates as assigned in interdepartmental quality improvement team efforts; and

- Contributes to overall Community Health Center efforts in quality improvement towards higher-quality, more cost-effective health care for patients and improved quality of work-life for staff members.
