ResponsibilitiesEssential Functions: The North America Industrial Operations Divisional Controller serve as key partner to the VPGM North American Industrial and other operations supporting functional leadership, including purchasing, SCM, quality, factory. The incumbent leads plant controlling for seven manufacturing locations, providing a consolidated view of the operational performance of the division through dotted line management of the plant controlling teams. Primary responsibilities include: Ensure plant controlling teams are informed and trained on controlling procedures and policies and toolsEnsure site activities are compliant with Howmet financial procedures and internal controlsEnsure consistency and standardization of controlling processes within the divisionAlert and arbitrate in case of discrepanciesAssure protection for the assets of the business through internal control and internal auditing.Oversee preparation and maintenance of company operating budgets. Check appropriate requests against approved budget for availability of funds prior to commitment and exercise accounting control to ensure that budgeted expenditures do not exceed amounts authorized.Ensure the coordination of financial forecasting process for plants (budget, periodic forecasts, annual plans)Lead all tasks related to month end closingProvide a consolidated view of operations results and communicate it to the division. Analyze and challenge the variances between the forecasted and actual resultsInterpret operating results as they affect the financial aspects of the organization and make specific recommendations, which will result in cost reduction and profit improvement.Determine and ensure the follow up and monitoring of the direct variable profit (DVP) per product Validate the economic justification of investments and ensure their follow upValidate the economic justification of standard costs and rates used in each plantEnsure the consistency between production indicators and financial reportingParticipate in the development of action plans and ensure their financial evaluation and follow upHighlight cash status at division level (capex, inventories, overdues)Manage and support the Plant Controlling teams on all financial issuesContribute to internal and external Audits requirementsBenefits/Salary:The position includes competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance (medical, dental, vision), excellent 401k matching program, paid holidays and vacation. The salary range for this position is $140K to $210KQualificationsBachelor's degree in Business with an accounting or finance concentration. Master's degree preferred.10+ years of professional experience, including a plant controller roleExperience in a matrix organization preferredStrong accounting knowledgeGood business acumenEffective communication and influencing skillsAbility to work effectively work as part of a teamEmployees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
