DAY-TO-DAY AS A BUYER

You start your day as a Buyer with our sustainable technology company by playing a critical role in the supply chain operations. You search for and negotiate contracts with suppliers and manufacturers. With your strong research skills, you secure high-quality sputtering components at the best total cost of ownership. You craft detailed purchase orders and inventory reports using the purchasing queue, placing orders based on due dates to ensure timely delivery.

Throughout the day, you monitor purchase orders and work closely with the operations team to resolve supply chain issues, ensuring all deliveries satisfy the assigned orders. You also collaborate with the Materials Manager to maintain accurate vendor information. Evaluating purchase price variances, you compare the purchase price against the standard cost, ensuring optimal inventory levels. Additionally, you guide the MRP system to less experienced users and offer backup support to your peers in Operations. Your efforts directly contribute to Bhler's efficiency and operational success.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A BUYER
  • 3-5 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Experience with Made 2 Manage or other ERP Systems
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and accurate data entry skills
  • Strong multi-tasking skills
  • Associate or bachelor's degree (preferred)
  • ISM/APICS certification (preferred)
