Cost Analyst

Impel has been retained to find a Production Controller (FP&A) for a rapidly expanding Global Biosolutions company based in Amsterdam. Our client is seeking an individual to take an active role in various activities such as: financial review meetings, product costing, cost accounting, variance analysis, price tracking, to ultimately reduce costs and improve performance. This is a role with a broad scope of responsibilities and an integral part of our clients growth strategy.

What you will do

• Cost Accounting / Analysis - operational cost of manufacturing sites in Netherlands and Belgium
• Run production order variance analysis
• Posting of overhead accruals and pre-payments to ensure costs are an accurate reflection
• Conducting review meetings with forecast holders to ensure that any cost variances can be explained and challenged
• Ensuring key personnel are provided with accurate and timely reports
• Work with Procurement to justify purchase orders in the system to ensure all costs are allocated adequately
• Maintain ERP and support development of SOPs
• Reporting to the Head of FP&A

• Degree in Finance, Economics or Accounting
• 5+ years' experience working within financial planning and analysis (FP&A) or Cost Account in a manufacturing environment
• Quantitative skills and mindset: Proven Advanced Excel / ERP - SAP a plus
• Ability to understand complex business cases and communicate effectively at all levels and articulate ideas, financial results & actionable recommendations
• Fluent English, Dutch or French a plus
• Preferably experienced in the use of business intelligence/planning tools and implementation
• Hands on, ambitious and analytical with good problem-solving skills
• Experience working in a fast paced environment
