You will strike a balance between maintaining trustful relationships, and ensuring timely payments. Our Collection Specialist should exhibit professionalism and trustworthiness. You should have excellent communication and negotiation skills, as well as an ability to work independently. As a Collections Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring that our company receives all necessary payments from patients. Your duties include monitoring accounts payable statements to identify debts owed to the company, contacting patients to notify them of overdue payments and documenting debts collected.Collections Specialist duties and responsibilities:Responsibilities Contact patients with overdue accounts and attempt to either collect the overdue amount or negotiate a payment plan to collect it in installments. Use credit bureau data, post office information, internet searches and other tools to try to locate customers who have moved or changed phone numbers. Maintain records of contacts and attempted contacts with delinquent account customers as well as records of any payments collected from the customer. Resolve customer issues and complaints concerning billing. Submit regular reports on the status of unpaid accounts and any repayment progress.Monitor accounts to identify outstanding debtsInvestigate historical data for each debt or billTake actions to encourage timely debt paymentsProcess payments and refundsResolve billing and customer credit issuesRequirements and skillsProven experience as a Collection Specialist or similar roleKnowledge of billing procedures and collection techniques (e.g. skip tracing)Familiarity with laws related to debt collection (e.g. FDCPA)Comfortable working with targetsPatience and ability to manage stressExcellent communication skills (written and oral)Skilled in negotiationProblem-solving skillsHigh school diploma; Associates/Bachelors degree is a plusSalary:Range from $17-$20 per hour.
