Description
The Contractor Counter team builds instant rapport with builders, remodelers, architects, and homeowners seeking to understand their needs achieve customer satisfaction. This role has a clear path of opportunity to grow within the Lumber department team.
They are the first contact with our customer base and relied upon for advice and direction to the appropriate products or product experts to consult with at HLC. The careful qualification they do with each customer allows for the rest of their team (PM, PS, GM) to remain focused on larger, more complex projects and our CORE customers.
GOALS
Maintain a welcome atmosphere to all customer types at the counter and assist them to get in & out quickly and efficiently while building relationships that offer customers a place to share their challenges so we may help find solutions and ultimately become an extension of their business.
•Ensure the desk is NEVER left unattended
•Take the time needed to properly qualify each customer before sending to the next HLC team member that can accurately assist that customers' needs.
•Accurately write orders and schedule for delivery.
•Continually push towards POS efficiency by identifying and resolving issues that slow down our ability to accurately and efficiently get customers in & out.
•Answer phone calls and respond to questions related to products stocked at HLC, recommend products.
•Ask/offer assistance to customers that approach the deck display.
•Upsell, add-on sales.
•Merchandise the desk as suggested by PMs.
•Keep counter clear of debris and clean surface at the end of each workday
•Maintain all LBM displays, stock of samples, and maintain a clean, orderly desk at all times.
•Provide our customers with ideas, services, options to help solve their problems.
•Assist PMs prospecting efforts by gathering information from accounts that fit our BBY profile
