POSITION SUMMARY
Modern Government Solutions (MGS) is seeking an experienced Human Resource Generalist with a background in supporting Department of Defense Federal Contractors. This role involves key HR functions such as talent management, compensation, benefits administration, employee relations, and compliance reporting.
RESPONSIBILITIES (not limited to):
As the HR Generalist, you will be responsible for preparing offer letters, new hire packages for employee onboarding, termination letters, memorandums for employee transfers, salary changes, promotions, etc. You will also assist with benefits administration, including medical, LTD, STD, life insurance, 401k administration and COBRA. To be successful in this opportunity, you will need to cultivate a habit of double-checking data accuracy, multitasking effectively, and maintaining a deep understanding of HR policies and practices. Other responsibilities include the following:
- Prepare and manage documentation for employee onboarding, terminations, transfers, salary adjustments, and promotions.
- Assist with benefits administration, including health plans, 401k, COBRA, and life insurance.
- Ensure data accuracy and compliance with HR policies and practices.
- Handle government-mandated reporting (EEO-1, VETS-4212, AAP, ACA 1095-C/1094-C, etc.).
- Oversee HR compliance with ISO9001 standards and evaluate performance metrics quarterly.
- Maintain personnel files and manage HR data in ADP Workforce Now.
- Generate and manage reports for employee census, performance reviews, and open requisitions.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management or related field.
- 6+ years of progressively responsible HR experience.
- Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong knowledge of HR principles and practices.
- Ability to manage HR programs and handle sensitive personnel issues with tact.
- Strong relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
- Possession of PHR/SPHR certification, SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification, or other relevant certifications preferred.
- Military human resources experience; MOS, 42A.
