Machinist (2-10pm Shift)Department: Machining Employment Type: Full TimeLocation: PittsburghReporting To: Bill GiffordDescriptionFS-Elliott headquartered Export, PA is looking to add Machinists to support our on-site production of centrifugal air compressor packages. At FS-Elliott our Machinist are responsible for the planning and lay out of complex machining operations; fabricates and assembles various types and sizes of product parts, tooling, and assemblies; performs jig, fixture, and tool work.This position is hiring for 2nd [2P-10P] shift. Key ResponsibilitiesUnderstand customer requirements and ensure they are metSetup and run a variety of machining including but not limited to lathes, mills, and precision grindersMonitor assigned machines and make necessary adjustments to continue producing high quality componentsInspect and ensure finished components meet or exceed internal and external requirements assuring the process has been completed properly. Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionalityRun multiple machines concurrently (multitasking is a standard expectation)Selects the appropriate cutting tools to maximize efficiency and ensure quality of product.Fabricates complicated parts having many interrelated dimensions, compound angles, irregular surfaces, coordinate and exacting tolerances requiring the layout of parts, the selection and use of hand tools, and/or the setup and operation of various machine tools.Suggests changes in design involving productivity and process of manufacture to proper staff.Provides all required reports and/or correspondence.Skills Knowledge and ExperiencePossesses and maintains thorough knowledge of industry, machinery, and techniques.Knowledge of proper use of measuring tools/gauges and cutting tools.Understanding of blueprints and routers.Excellent communication and math skills.Commitment to excellence and high standardsStrong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skillsAbility to manage priorities and workflowVersatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasmAbility to work on complex projects with general direction and minimal guidance.
