Brief Job Description:

Seeking an experienced Accountant to manage Accounts Payable, maintain vendor records, process invoices, and collaborate with Supply Chain. Must have a bachelor's in Accounting, 2+ years of experience, proficiency in Deltek Costpoint and Excel, and strong organizational skills. Experience in US Government Contracting and manufacturing accounting is preferred. The ideal candidate is a trustworthy, self-starting individual who can work independently with minimal guidance. They are organized, detail-oriented, and collaborate effectively within a team.

Responsibilities
  • Full responsibility over the Accounts Payable process
  • Maintain vendor information and records
  • Timely entry of vendor invoices
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain Management team regarding vendor activity, POs, inventory processing
  • Prepare customer payment records
  • Process employee expense reports in compliance with US Government Contract Joint Travel Regulations
  • Prepare bank statement reconciliations
  • Subledger to General Ledger reconciliations
  • Prepare accruals and adjusting journal entries
  • Maintenance of cost accounting charge line tables
  • Create Sales Order documents
  • Process customer invoices
  • Track and manage Accounts Receivable and sending statements to customers
  • Performs other tasks as needed
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required
  • Direct experience in General Ledger accounting is required
  • Direct experience in Accounts Payable is required
  • Experience in other Finance & Accounting operations is highly preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of direct, hands-on accounting experience
  • The role can be filled at a higher level dependent upon candidate qualifications:
    • Level II: 2-4 years of experience
    • Level III: 4+ years of experience
  • Experience in Accounting within the US Government Contracting industry is preferred
  • Experience in Manufacturing and Inventory Accounting is highly preferred
  • Experience using Deltek Costpoint is highly preferred
  • Possesses adept skills in Microsoft Office especially Excel
  • Has a solid understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Must be capable of passing a drug screen
  • Must be capable of passing a background check
  • Must have strong organizational and planning skills and the ability to prioritize work
  • Must be able to work in a team environment
  • Must have attention to detail and critical thinking skills
  • Must demonstrate positive, polite, and professional behavior at all times when dealing with co-workers, customers, and all levels of management
  • Must have the ability to communicate using clear, concise, and accurate English; both verbal and written are Required


Physical Requirements:

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility to include but not limited to: bending, reaching, climbing, turning, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distances may be required. Must be able to lift, move, and transport items frequently over 10 pounds.

Work Environment:

Generally, work is conducted in an inside office environment, but may also involve some outside work depending on the task. The inside environment may be in an office or cubicle with close quarters, low to moderate noise, and bright or dim lighting. Outside work may include various environmental conditions including warm and cold climates and while on travel.
