Clinically Advanced Physician Associate

Provides support and accountability as an experienced PA in the clinical area of expertise, and displays leadership and mentorship to designated PA team, associated medical teams and staff. Maintains clinical responsibility for patient care with supervising physician, and in collaboration with associated medical teams and staffing. Performs a broad spectrum of care regarding critical thinking, diagnosis, ordering of medications and diagnostics, and performance of corrective, preventive and therapeutic measures in the inpatient, surgical, and/or outpatient setting. Assumes medical staff privileging under the scope of practice of a delegated physician determined by Mount Sinai Health System, and the department of hire. The Clinically Advanced PA will have clinical expertise in the specialty of hire of greater than 5 years and operates as a role model for clinical care in the area of hire. The Chief PA assumes a leadership role managing a PA team, and responsible for all the associated duties.

- Street-metered parking (free midnight - 7 am)
- Weekend Spine Shift
- 3 Days / week- F-Sa-Su - 7 am - 8 pm
- No on-call, No holidays
- 5% shift differential
- Manage floor patients -Spine
- Manage spine consult pager
- IP Postoperative follow-up, post-op checks
- Admit direct admission patients
- Part of a 2- 3 PA team
- 2- 3 PAs per shift on Fridays, 2 PAs on Sat/Sun
- PA Team Room
- Friendly team environment
5 years of more of experience in clinical specialty of hire and/or leadership role of a medical team/PA team
