The 911 Call Diversion Clinician for 988 is a qualified Mental Health Professional who is

trained to oversee calls, provide risk assessment oversight, and clinical decision making for calls that come into Valley Com 911’s Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP). This position is responsible for overseeing all activities of the 988 embedded clinical team while on shift, with a primary focus of diverting behavioral health crisis calls away from law enforcement responses when clinically indicated.

Pay/Schedule - This is a 30 hour a week position. The hourly rate is $37.23. However, clinicians are still eligible for full benefits and a $5K sign on bonus.

3-5 Must Have Skills/Qualifications

  • Masters in a Mental Health related field (Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, etc.)
  • Must be registered with the WA Board as a Mental Health Professional (MHP)
  • Associate level social work or counselor candidates preferred
  • Experience with crisis work or high acuity patients

Nice to Have Skills

  • Experience with 911, first responders, or law enforcement
  • Experience in a call center or help line

Soft Skill/Attribute Requirements

  • Comfortable supervising a team, providing constructive feedback, and maintaining a strong team culture
