Job Summary

he Associa e Direc or of Universi y Heal h Services (UHS) Clinical Opera ions is responsible for he developmen , direc ion, planning and implemen a ion of effec ive clinic opera ions ensuring high-quali y pa ien care. Ac s as UHS HIPPA Privacy Officer.

Essen ial Func ions

Develops and manages all clinical opera ions including scheduling of all personnel assigned o he clinics (RNs, NPs, PAs, and MDs) o ensure adequa e coverage and clinical suppor . Manages hiring, raining and supervision of employees assigned direc ly o Clinic Services.
Direc s he ancillary services of UHS including hiring, budge ing, and supervision of managers. Moni ors performance o budge and effec iveness of service delivery o pa ien s and recommends changes, as needed.
Develops rela ionships on he UMass campus and ex ernal campus communi ies in conjunc ion wi h he Execu ive Direc or of UHS o provide adminis ra ive and/or clinical services under he umbrella of UHS. Ac s as he primary rela ionship manager proac ively remaining connec ed o clien s o unders and heir needs.
Ac s as a resource for he college communi y on issues of heal h promo ion, disease preven ion, safe y, and heal h advocacy. Works closely wi h o her campus depar men s in mee ing he heal h needs of he campus communi y, including such services as manda ed immuniza ions, heal h s a us and disabili y.
Leads quali y assurance clinical programs, peer review and con inuing educa ion and ensures compliance wi h accredi a ion s andards. Uses da a o crea e and implemen new policies and procedures o improve he efficiency of he depar men s and services provided by UHS s aff.
Works wi h Human Resources, Labor Rela ions, and union officials o resolve personnel ma ers; par icipa es as second s ep hearing officer and represen s he depar men in grievance inves iga ions, hearings, and arbi ra ions.
Reviews pa ien flow and makes sugges ions for efficiency oppor uni ies. racks and measures da a rela ed o pa ien care.
Collabora es wi h o her heal h professionals and s aff o build posi ive rela ionships in projec developmen , planning and s ra egic ini ia ives. Unders ands and adheres o appropria e e hical s andards of professional and academic conduc .

Minimum Qualifica ions (Knowledge, Skills, Abili ies, Educa ion, Experience, Cer ifica ions, Licensure)

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience wi hin a medical se ing.
Abili y o respond effec ively o he mos sensi ive inquiries or complain s, superior leadership skills. Abili y o communica e effec ively, in wri ing and verbally, wi h all levels of employees and managemen ; demons ra ed skills in problem analysis and resolu ion.
Knowledge of clinical opera ions managemen .
Abili y o analyze and in erpre da a and use independen judgemen o coordina e, manage, and impar informa ion; develop and implemen policies and procedures, and incorpora e hem in o efficien and effec ive workflows; abili y o manage several projec s simul aneously, and capaci y o handle compe ing priori ies in a complex and dynamic working environmen .
Advanced/proficien compu er skills wi h Microsof and o her web-based applica ions.

Preferred Qualifica ions (Knowledge, Skills, Abili ies, Educa ion, Experience, Cer ifica ions, Licensure)

Mas er's Degree.

Physical Demands/Working Condi ions

Full service medical heal h services clinic and office.

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
Posi ion requires adminis ra ive on-call ro a ion, wi h some holiday, evening & weekend hours as business needs dic a e.
