Summary for the Director of Human Resources:
Our client, headquartered in downtown Indianapolis, IN, is a pioneer of their industry and has led their profession for over 100 years. They have multiple locations around Indianapolis and in 2021 celebrated their 140th anniversary as a family-owned firm. As the Director of Human Resources, you'll be the architect of the talent landscape, orchestrating policies, activities, and team efforts within the HR department. You'll be instrumental in steering recruitment, fostering professional development, and championing employee well-being.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities for the Director of Human Resources

Talent Trailblazing: Spearhead full-cycle recruiting efforts, from sourcing top-tier talent to crafting compelling onboarding experiences. Your knack for identifying needs and executing best practices will drive the talent acquisition strategy forward.

Learning & Growth: Collaborate with senior leadership to design and implement training initiatives that empower the team to reach new heights. By nurturing a culture of continuous learning, you'll ensure that every employee has the tools they need to excel.

Benefits, Compensation, and Total Rewards Expertise: Become the guru for all things benefits-related, guiding the organization's benefits and total rewards strategy and administration, ensuring that the compensation and rewards strategy attracts and retains top talent.

Compliance and Best Practices Oversight: Ensure adherence to legal regulations and industry standards by implementing compliance programs and monitoring HR practices. Stay abreast of evolving regulations and proactively update policies to maintain compliance.

Employee Relations Management: Foster positive employee relations by addressing concerns, resolving conflicts, and promoting a culture of fairness and inclusivity. Provide guidance and support to managers on handling employee-related issues effectively.

Other Essential Responsibilities: From analyzing organizational trends to providing guidance on employee relations, you'll be at the forefront of shaping the HR landscape. Your proactive approach and commitment to excellence will be the driving force behind our success.

Qualifications for the Director of Human Resources
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 10 plus years of HR generalist experience
  • Minimum of 5 years leading an HR department and supervising a team
  • Multi-site experience preferred but not required
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HR principles, practices, and regulations
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to handle delicate situations with empathy and professionalism
