A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A STAFF ACCOUNTANT
My client and I are seeking an experienced Staff Accountant who can perform accounting duties related to account reconciliation and departmental budgeting. This candidate must possess qualities and skills such as attention to detail, confidentiality, the ability to multitask, communicate and provide a friendly and positive attitude toward customers and the workplace.

STAFF ACCOUNTANT ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Assist with the month-end closing process
  • Prepare and process monthly journal entries
  • Prepare account reconciliation - A/P, A/R, major expense accruals and recurring monthly expenses
  • Daily bank reconciliations
  • Review and audit vendor receivables
  • Produce management reports as assigned
  • Work closely with Director of Finance on departmental budgeting
  • Provide back-up support to finance and accounting team
  • Complete miscellaneous duties and projects, as assigned.

STAFF ACCOUNTANT QUALIFICATIONS

  • Flexibility to work independently and cross functionally with teams in a fast-paced, high volume environment with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
  • Strong analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Self-directed time and project management
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to accomplish multiple objectives and meet deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Friendly, positive, and customer service oriented
  • Excellent Excel skills, Office and large ERP/accounting software experience a plus
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Accounting or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
