Sweeper truck drivers use brushes, back-pack blowers, trash pickers, and other attachments to remove dirt, debris, litter, leaves, and other materials from the road and outdoors. Location: Indianapolis, IN Area

Work Schedule: 7:00 p.m. - 4 a.m. Monday through Friday. Occasional weekend work as needed.

Pay: $15.50-$18.00 per hour

Travel: There may be times where you could travel, potentially overnight, for specific projects. Travel is optional.

Requirements

Job Duties and Requirements:
  • Job duties of a trained employee:
    • Punctual arrival and attendance to all scheduled shifts.
    • Adhere to uniform standards and follow instructions set forth by the manager.
    • Report any existing or new damage at the work locations to your manager with photos and verbal explanations.
    • Inspecting your equipment and tools daily for proper maintenance, including the sweeper truck and completion pre and post maintenance inspections.
    • Maintaining a clean and orderly work environment with company owned assets.
    • Inform your manager immediately of any damage to the sweeper truck, tools, and equipment with photos and documented communication.
    • Communicate effectively with your manager to ensure timely and quality work according to NewPoint Services standards.
    • Expected to follow state issued traffic laws and road safety.
    • Adhere to zero tolerance accident policy.
    • Ability to work independently and part of a team.
    • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Applicant Job Requirements:
    • Previous Experience in operating heavy equipment (highly desired but not necessary) or large vehicles.
    • Landscaping, sanitation, or janitorial experience is a plus.
    • Active Driver's License and clean driving record.
    • You must also comply with the company policies and procedures.
    • NewPoint Services participates in E-Verify. Applicants must pass a background check and a pre-employment drug screen before hire.
Physical Demands & Conditions:
  • This position is primarily a driving position. Must be able to spend significant amount of shift driving the sweeper truck.
  • Ability to lift, push and pull at least 75 pounds throughout a shift.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to bend, reach, stoop, squat and lift frequently throughout a shift.
  • Willingness to work outside in all weather conditions (cold, heat, rain, snow) and encounter trash and debris.
  • Daily use of equipment re used daily, and proper care is essential.
