Mechanical Assembly Technician Join our team as a Mechanical Assembly Technician, where you will perform essential functions in various stations and feeder areas, excluding welding, within your assigned department. You will assemble mechanical support assemblies to precise specifications, identify and assemble parts, and flexibly move between workstations and assembly lines. Responsibilities: Perform all functions, except welding, in assigned department stations and feeder areas. Flexibly adapt to other workstations and assembly lines. Assemble mechanical support assemblies to specifications. Identify and assemble all parts. Practice and sustain 5's methods. Understand material ordering systems. Apply proper sealing procedures for all products. Identify motor sizes and read data plates. Perform plumbing and electrical work on units. Work from ladders up to 20 feet in height. Familiarize with knock down packing and crating. Install special accessories on units and understand their function. Follow all ISO procedures, policies, and instructions for quality assurance. Mentor and drive LEAN principles within the area. Develop and implement ways to improve safety performance. Help achieve departmental safety goals, including near miss reporting. Perform additional duties as requested or assigned. Essential Skills: General knowledge in the construction of related equipment. Strong initiative, problem-solving skills, and teamwork. Fluent in English, both written and spoken. Good communication skills and professional interaction with representatives, customers, and co-workers. Personable, dependable, flexible, innovative, decisive, and loyal. Understanding of bill of material. Proficient with computers, including ManMan and PPD systems. Ability to use simple math and basic handheld measuring tools. Ability to work well with others and adapt to job schedules. Maintain regular attendance and take appropriate precautions against hazards. Additional Skills & Qualifications: Ability to read blueprints and tape measures. Experience in using hand tools, power tools, and air tools. Mechanically inclined with experience in construction or manufacturing. Comfortable with using various hand, power, and air tools. Work Environment: This role is based in a manufacturing facility on the first shift, where the noise level is typically loud, requiring hearing protection. Most work is conducted indoors, though large bay doors may open, exposing you to weather elements. The environment requires steel or composite toe boots, and PPE including ear plugs, safety glasses, gloves, and arm shields, some of which are provided. Housekeeping is conducted per shift, and you should expect to be dirty by the end of your shift. Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Milford, DE. Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $18.66 - $19.66/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
