Planner A

This position is for a Planner A position with a company located in Pascagoula, Mississippi. Summary: Develops work packages/work orders, maintains production routings, and monitors process lead time to support the Master schedule. Works under the general direction of Director of Production. Duties and Responsibilities Include: The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed and are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities. Generates work packages, material requisitions, project component order releases, certain inventory transactions, etc., into automated data handling system (MRP System -- Finesse). Generates production reports from MRP system including shortage lists, order status reports, exception reports, labor reports, production routings, and parts lists. Monitors yard capacities. Receives and assesses engineering modifications and adjusts work packages and communicates changes / adjustments with schedulers as needed. Communicates schedule adjustments to production personnel through the work packages. Consults with project team to ensure appropriate inventory is available for production purposes to support the project schedule. Develops and monitors labor/material estimates and actual performance at the work order level. Requirements and Qualifications Include: College degree preferred. High school education or equivalent supplemented by course work or technical training in production management acceptable. APICS certification a plus. Experience with MRP software is required. Professional level experience in scheduling, production planning, or any combination of experience and training that results in the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
