Nurse Supervisor Responsibilities:
Know and support the philosophy, goals and objectives of the Nursing Department and Deer Meadows Retirement Community as a whole.
Assign resident care responsibilities to nursing personnel based on resident’s needs, available staff and unit needs.
Collaborate, communicate and cooperate with other health care providers to ensure quality care, including transcribing physician's orders according to facility procedures.
Continually observe/monitor and evaluate quality, quantity and timeliness of nursing care.
Responsible for evaluating work performance evaluations of direct subordinates.
Responsible for applying disciplinary action when appropriate.
Nurse Supervisor Requirements:
Must be a graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the PA State Board of Nurse Examiners.
Must currently be licensed as a Registered Nurse by the PA State Board of Nurse Examiners.
Must be knowledgeable of nursing, medical practices and procedures.
Knowledgeable of all legal regulations, guidelines and best practices that pertain to long-term care.
Possess supervisory leadership skills and the capability to develop staff.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
Time management skills.
