Our District Support Pharmacists (DSPs) play a critical role in cultivating a culture of excellence within each pharmacy, acting as a role model for all, demonstrating genuine care, and setting the bar for the pharmacy team. DSPs cover pharmacist scheduling gaps within the district under the direction of the Pharmacy Manager and Rx District Leader to support pharmacy teams, and are accountable for supporting the management, oversight, and operation of the pharmacy and pharmacy team. Responsibilities Live our purpose by helping to manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices. Travel within the district to fill pharmacist shifts as scheduled; oversee the pharmacy and serve as the Pharmacy Managers proxy during bench shifts without overlap. Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by followingand directing the team to followpharmacy workflow procedures and safety guardrails at every workstation. Assume Pharmacy Managers day-to-day duties when serving as the only or primary pharmacist on duty. Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and coaching the pharmacy team to do the same; collaborate with the patients total healthcare team to resolve insurance and/or medication issues. Offer and deliver immunizations to keep patients healthy and support Pharmacy Technicians to learn to immunize. Support effective management of pharmacy inventory with a focus on protecting cold chain products; follow inventory best practices across all pharmacies worked. Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs while contributing to a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic. Maintain relevant clinical and technical skills through trainings and CMEs; seek opportunities to expand knowledge to support patients. Support access to care and improve patient outcomes through pharmacist-delivered clinical care where permissible (e.g., testing and prescribing services) and empower the team to provide holistic care at every step in the patient care journey. Understand and comply with all relevant laws, regulations, professional standards, and CVS Health policies; maintain patient privacy and a safe workplace. Required Qualifications Active Pharmacist License in the state where the store is located Active National Provider Identifier (NPI) Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list Essential Functions Ability to travel within a reasonable radius to support market staffing as needed Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe Attention and Focus Concentrate on a task over a period of time Pivot quickly between tasks to meet patient and business needs Confirm prescription information and label accuracy to ensure patient safety Customer Service and Team Orientation Actively look for ways to help people in a friendly manner Notice and understand patients reactions and respond appropriately Communication Skills Use and understand verbal and written communication with patients and colleagues Practice active listening and ask questions as appropriate Mathematical Reasoning Use math to determine dispensing quantities, days supply, and bottle counts Problem Resolution Identify challenging interactions and determine best actions when faced with options Physical Demands Be mobile and upright for extended periods; lift, scan, and bag items Reach, stretch, and manipulate items; perform tasks requiring fine motor skills Occasionally lift up to 20 lbs and frequently lift up to 10 lbs; maintain visual acuity for reading and computer work Communicate clearly and receive detailed information orally Any additional tasks as directed by Supervisor or Manager Preferred Qualifications 1-2 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting CVS Health is an equal opportunity employer. Anticipated Weekly Hours 20 Time Type Part time Pay Range The Typical Pay Range For This Role Is $60.00 - $74.00 per hour. The actual offer will depend on factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.
